Rachel Pohl is an artist and mountain athlete from
Montana. Her colorful oil and acrylic landscapes from
all over the West capture how these places feel, not
just how they look. Rachel grew up in a household that
valued time spent outdoors, which informs her
lifestyle and her work today. This "Nature Camo"
pattern Rachel created for our shirts highlights some
of the small, beautiful organisms one can find
adventuring in the Western US. From morel and
chanterelle mushrooms to snail shells, owl feathers,
bracken ferns, juniper and pine sprigs, Rachel hopes
to inspire us to slow down and notice the little
things that make ecosystems special, not just the big
vistas, on our travels and wanderings. Through all of
her work and writing, Rachel encourages others to
appreciate and protect the wild places we all love,
and to live boldly and creatively on our own terms.
Known for her graphic, detailed, vibrant style,
Rachel's work can be found on rachelpohlart.com, on Instagram @rachel.pohl or @rachel.pohl.art, and
on our flannel shirts.
